Subject: The future is now thanks to Robotics

Dear Ms. B,

My name is Choyce Perkins Jr. We recently met at a robotics convention. I gave you a small pitch of an idea I’ve been creating for five months. Did you know in 2016, Boston Dynamics revealed a four-legged canine-inspired dog used for military purposes to help soldiers with remote inspections of the hazardous environment? I’m here to take robotics engineering to the next step by making android-like humans to help those in need across the globe. This project will bring evolution to robotics and aid humanity.

The “Encon” series is a set of robots with a see-through fire-proof, bullet-proof, and water-proof material for the body, a titanium skeleton to have a strong structure, and an exoskeleton for lifting heavy objects. The Encon series is programmed with multiple medical practices and military skills. They also have high sensors to signal any incoming dangers. In addition, the Encon series are good when it comes to locating humans through thermal energy radiating from the body if they are in any distress or pain. These robots programmed by Arduino circuit boards contain digital pins to enhance connectivity for the robots to function at high speeds and to download information better. Encon’s series will be efficient in energy by using lithium-ion batteries which will need charging ports powered by solar energy. These robots will make good use of helping humanity in any form of conflict. You may be wondering if there will be a robotic uprising with these androids, but I can tell you in this somewhat likely scenario, it won’t happen thanks to a built-in chip containing a virus that will have the androids shut down. There could also be another scenario where the androids override the virus chip. The androids will have to obey the laws of robotics. If they violate those laws, the androids will immediately shut down.

Thank you for listening. Now talking about terms of funding, I would need approximately 800 million dollars for the production of materials, a lab to work in, and a team to move the process of producing robots faster. This project should take about 5-10 years. When you have time, I would like to hear from you by Wednesday with any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Choyce Perkins Jr.
